Child Care Services

A child’s best hope for a bright future is in quality care that fosters the growth of a child’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs.  As a parent, you know how important it is to provide the best possible care for your child when you can’t be there.  You want someone to provide more than just the basics and that’s why Child Care Services works to license Day Cares, Out-of-school Cares and Day Homes to ensure the highest possible standards of care.  And because no child’s hope should be tied to their parent’s bank account, Alberta Human Services also provides child care subsidies to qualified families.

Child Care Subsidy – All children deserve the same opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential.  Depending on the circumstances, parents may qualify for financial assistance to ensure their child receives the quality care they deserve.

Family Day Homes – A family day home provides care in a very different way when compared to a Day Care or Out-of-school Care. Learn more about what a day home is, how they’re approved and whether a day home is right for you.

Respite Child Care – There are times when a parent might need some relief to reduce stress or just to have some time to “get things done”.  This program provides child care to eligible parents of children 0-12 years old at no cost to the family.

Licensed Child Care Facilities – Because Day Cares and Family Day Homes have to meet certain licensing requirements, you can be assured that your child’s emotional and developmental needs are being met and fostered.
