Accreditation

The Canadian Accreditation Council is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centres on enhancing the lives of the persons served.  CAC establishes focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and has been accrediting human services programs in Alberta and Canada for more than 30 years.

In January of 2009, Yellowhead Youth Centre was accredited by CAC for a period of four years for its Residential Treatment Programs. This was the first Four-Year Accreditation that the Canadian Accreditation Council awarded to an agency. Yellowhead Youth Centre’s accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization demonstrating substantial conformance to the standards established by CAC. An organization receiving a Four-Year Accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous third party objective review process and has demonstrated to a team of reviewers during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable. Yellowhead Youth Centre continuously strives to provide the highest quality programs and services and will again undergo the accreditation process in January 2013.
